The plants that are available for sale on my site will have come from a variety of sources including: my own propagations, imports from Asia and South America and from nurseries in Europe.
Our plants are shipped in cardboard boxes secured within corrugated cardboard tubes. Additional packing can be placed around the base of the plant to ensure there is no movement inside of the box.
The pot itself will be wrapped in a compostable bag to hold in the soil and retain moisture during shipping.
We have worked very hard to make sure our packaging is as sustainable as possible. I am delighted that with the exception of the pot everything about your packaging can be recycled and even put on the compost heap, even the tape we use is made from paper!
During the colder months of the year plants will be shipped with a 40 hr heat pack which will be secured behind a barrier so it is not in contact with your plant.
The plant in the picture will be the plant you will receive unless otherwise stated.
We take great pride in the quality of the plants we sell and describe them as accurately as possible in the shop. Plants are packaged with love and the upmost care and attention. If however you are not happy with the plant you have received then please take the time to read our returns policy and contact me personally at mark@houseplant.homeschool.co.uk and I will work to find a positive resolution for you.
Shipping will be calculated for you at the point of checkout. At this time shipping is within the UK only with the exception of Norther Ireland as we are not in a position to provide phytosanitary certificates at this time.
I have thought long and hard about this, and in the end I have elected to use Royal Mail Special delivery for shipping. My reasons are that I have sent and received goods via almost all other courier companies and none of them have offered the service that the Royal Mail has. Damaged, lost or late parcels happen but in all the years I have used the special delivery service it has never let me down. There is an increased cost for this service when compared to for example DPD but I firmly believe that if your spending a lot of money on a plant why skimp on the delivery service? To this end I have elected to create a flat rate shipping cost of £10 per order, any cost over that will be absorbed by myself in addition to things like heat packs which are not charged additionally.
