Description

Aim to keep your soil damp not wet or soggy. Your plant will arrive in a very well draining potting mix so watering once or twice a week  should be fine during the growing season. I would drop this down to once a week in winter.

Anthurium crystallinum is not one for bright direct light; medium indirect light is ideal. No direct sunlight unless it is early morning or late afternoon only. This Anthurium can be found in a variety of situations from the forest floor to the branches of trees so aim to reproduce this kind of lighting if you can.

This is a tropical plant so it will look its best given plenty of warmth and humidity. I have found the ideal growing temperature to be 19 – 26c° during the day and a few degrees lower at night.  Humidity is this plant’s friend: the more you can provide, the happier it will be. Ideally you want to aim for about 60%+.  You will likely find this a difficult plant to maintain without the aid of a humidifier, but if you don’t have a humidifier then either group your plants together or place pot on a tray of pebbles that are always wet as this will help to create a micro climate around the plant.

I use a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month at 50% strength.
